Are you spending too much
time and money on google adwords traffic? then find out...
The truth about google ambush is out!
can it really slash your costs per click, speed up your campaigns and automate your PPC
efforts...?
In this in depth review, no punches are held back...discover whether this
brand new Adwords system lives up to the bold promises or not:
The more you get involved in internet marketing, the more you realize that it's all about
basic and proven principles.
Those principles are...
-
Conver the traffic
-
Track it all
Huh, Seems Easy Right? WRONG!
Not only does each of these steps take days on end, but there is so much room for error of
judgement and oversights that you simply cannot prepare for, no matter how good a marketer you are.
That's why most online marketers fail, because getting just one of these steps wrong can lead
to disaster, no matter how well you do the rest.
Furthermore, most of us simply do not have the time to focus on all of these things will all
our energy and commitment. Heck, we need to learn the theory behind each step before we can actually get it right,
and each step in the process of making money online above has entire libraries full of theory and
training!
But that's not all...
You see, when you get good at these things, you are still not out of the
cold...
You've still got to be able to get traffic that is cheap enough to make a profit, and free
traffic isn't always good enough, or substantial enough.
The only way to run a sustainable online business is have all of these elements nailed, and
be able to get a daily flow of reliable customers to your websites. Not just any old traffic either - it need sto
be targeted and you need to be able to turn that traffic into sales!
Phew, No Wonder So Many Folks Throw In The Towel!
Let's face it, none of us have money to waste "testing the water" or hoping one day that all
our ducks will line up in a neat little row. We need traffic that is gonna buy from us, and without losing money
paying for it.
So, we need to stop learning and start
doing!
Theory still needs to be applied, and you could spend years (and thousands) on education. We
don't have time for that do we? If you're anything like me, you will want cash TODAY!
I've been down that road, and I can tell you that I have come out the other end wasting money
on paid advertising, picking the wrong products to promote and totally screwing up my system with crappy websites
that couldn't even sell zippos at a Bon Jovi concert.
All I knew from all that wasted time and money is that...
Theory Is Interesting, But You Can Still Go
Wrong
(And Books Won't Make You Money Just By Reading Them)!
That's why I took a step back and looked around for a real solution to my
problems...
It's a pretty tall order, considering the fact that I needed something that was able to do
all my research, locate good products which sell well, create my websites which can effectively sell these products
for me, and get traffic to my site for as cheaply as possible.
Yeah, right...not too much to ask then, lol.
However, more and more products are coming out these days, which are aimed at folks like me
who need more automation, who need that little helping hand...and don't have the time or money to learn from the
ground up.
I've tried a few of them in the past, most of which leave vital elements out of the "simple
equation" I mentioned earlier. But one product caught my eye, as it promised to deliver results I was specifically
looking for...
What Is The Product I'm
Recommending?
 |
It's called Google Ambush.
Google Ambush is basically an all in one software and training
solution to allow you to:
-
Locate a profitable niche
-
Build keyword lists for you
-
Locate profitable related products for you to sell
-
Set up your website sales pages
-
Set up your online ads and capmpaigns
-
Track and test the system to reduce your costs
|
Ultimately, it claims to do the job of an entire team of advertisers which most
companies pay thousands of dollars a month for. And equally, it claims to replace the workload and expertise that
hundreds of online marketers have to endure and battle through each day just to get up and running.
At least, that's the claim. Is it true? Let's find out...
First Impresssions
Usual Sales Page Hype
First of all, after being recommended this product from a fellow marketer, I was sent to
Google Ambush's main sales page. Now, I don't know about you, but I've seen these one too many times.
They are useful for learning more about the product, but you have to wade through so much
hype first don't you?! There's a lot of wild claims on this page, but the only way to find out the truth is to go
ahead and buy the thing.
Worried about PPC
One thing I noticed is that Google Ambush is all about using Google Adwords, which is paid
advertising. At first, I was a bit reluctant, as I have lost a lot of money from Google's tricky advertising system
in the past...
But the one thing I had to keep in mind, is that there are millions of advertisers making a
profit daily from Google's Adwords, so maybe there is something in it after all.
Also, I guess the point of Google Ambush is to create campaigns where you can get cheaper
clicks from your ads by having a better quality score (that's how Google rewards good advertisers - by lowering
their ad costs for being high quality and relevant).
Secondly, if Google Ambush works, then I'll be running campaigns where the keywords convert
into sales, because I will have a good product in a good market, and I will have a website that really makes people
buy!
Still, I can't help but feel that you may already need some experience with affiliate
marketing. We''ll see if that's true in just a second...
Under the hood
Ok, after buying Google Ambush there are a few things which strike me straight away. Below
are the main components of the product, and my feedback on their effectiveness and value...
Product Finder
This is their own proprietary software that you can use inside your account with Google
Ambush. This is a remotely hosted program that searches the database of products located at the affiliate network
ClickBank.
ClickBank is like the eBay of digital downloads, and I have no problem selling eBooks etc as
they produce the biggest profit margins as an affiliate. However, it would have been nice to see more networks
featured, not just one network.
Having said that, it does have some good feature, like filtering out products which are
rising to the top the marketplace over a specified period of time. This is useful for spotting "rising stars" of
the digital product world which are proving to sell well, but that don't have lots of competition yet.
It shows you the last 1, 7 or 30 days, which products are rising in "gravity", which is a
term ClickBank use to measure increased sales in a product. There are very few (if any) tools that provide this
function, and at the kind of price that the Google Ambush people charge, it is a very useful competitive
advantage.
Keyword Research
This is where most campaigns fall flat on their face, because choosing the wrong keywords can
mean no sales, or too much cost per click and competition in Adwords.
Google Ambush has an easy keyword research tool, albeit very basic in comparison to others
that are available on the market at a higher price. What I do like, is that it actually gives you the option to
filter your results based on the average CPC (Cost Per Click) in the Google Adwords system. This alone will show
you where all the cheap keywords are hiding, which is crucial for a maximum return on your
advertising/profit.
Campaign Loader
A useful but fairly basic tool which integrates with your Adwords account, allowing you to
manage your campaigns on every level, from one central location in your Google Ambush account.
This isn't essential, but can be useful for those obsessed with simplicity and origanization.
I admit, after running a few campaigns and constantly switching between websites, this is actually pretty useful in
the end. You can actually upload new keywords and ads right within your Google Ambush account, which is pretty cool
too.
When I was testing this product out, there was a feature to import keywords from another
application which was not yet ready, called the Spy Tool. I guess this will be some form of keyword research tool
which can dig up more profitable keywords. Should be useful being able to import them into your campaign manager
tool.
Ultimately, this particular element does keep the system "tidy" and easier to wrap your head
around, so a thumbs up here.
Landing Page Generator
Ok, now we have a product and some keywords with ads to run in Google, we'll need a quality
landing page to upload to our website which is relevant to each keyword/ad group we create in Google's Adwords
system.
This allows us to make more sales and reduce our click costs, because the ads will be more
relevant to the person clicking it, and Google rewards us for that. So this step is crucial, and totally
win-win.
The problem recently, is that advertisers realized how much of a pain in the behind this was
to do across multiple campaigns, keywords, ad groups etc. You can't get away with sending all your traffic to the
same single landing page, and expect people to buy from you. It needs to all match up, from your keyword, to your
ad, to your website's landing page for that particular ad.
That's one of the reasons I purchased Google Ambush - because I got sick and tired of
creating different landing pages for each advert on Adwords, and furthermore, I wanted my website to convert people
into buyers more of course!
The Landing Page generator takes care of these things, allowing you to generate review style
pages of the product you are promoting. This makes the page relevant to the ads you run, and relevant to the reader
who clicks on your ad...and let's not forget, relevant to Google's standards, which means cheaper
clicks!
The Landing Page Generator is pretty easy to use, with 4 different templates available and
the ability to include your own HTML.
Furthermore, it's really quick too, and the visual quality of the landing page is pretty
impressive for what is essentially a robot generated web page.
To get your pages online, you simply publish the pages straight onto the shared domain that
Google Ambush gives you, with a dedicated page with a page name that matches your target keyword.
There is one flaw with this
though...
Using these pages straight out of the gate, I found that Google was giving me a bad quality
score and my cost per click for my ads were stupidly high.
I know why too, and it is because the default Google Ambush templates don't have any links to
the required pages that Google likes to see on your landing page. These are typically an About Me page, a Contact
Me page and maybe a Privacy page.
I suggest you add links to your Landing Pages once Google Ambush has created them
automatically, so you can avoid this same issue. Maybe this will get fixed in the next update, but who
knows.
Tracker
This is a crucial "behind the scenes" tool to tracks the hits, conversions, keywords and hits
per country for your ads. This is important, as you need to see which ads and campaigns are getting traffic ands
sales, and which aren't. Again, you can get free tools that do this, but it's very useful having it all integrated
into once place and saves a lot of hassle and fuss when you start rolling things out a lot more.
Another thing to note, is that the tracking allows you to track sales of a product you don't
even own. This is a major advantage, because usually you have to contact the product owner of the product you are
promoting, and ask them to put your tracking code on their order confirmation pages, which is a real hassle, so
this is a major bonus.
Ambush Videos
Finally, we have some training built into the product. The standard package provides you with
6 training videos, totalling around 2 hours worth of content which covers each of the above areas in more than
enough detail.
Without these videos, I can imagine that the beginner market may struggle, so they are an
essential watch, and pretty well made too.
Weirdly however, there was no option to downlod and view offline, which is usually expected
these days, and it does mean you need to be connected to the internet for longer periods (whcih most of us are
anyway to be honest).
Bonus material:
Bonus affiliate case study video
This video is a pretty inspiring example of how you can use the Google Ambush system to make
a lot of money pretty quickly.
Admittedly, the beginner may feel left out or at least a bit overwhelmed when watching this,
but the fact is that this gives you real proof and encouragement to actually go out there and start getting your
Adwords campaigns running.
It shows how one affiliate made $15,000 in 2 months and
it took him literally 30 minutes of "work" to do it. I
guess this sort of thing is only really possible when you have a certain degree of automation, which is exaclty
what the Google Ambush system offers - a time saving, cost saving and partially hands free way to set up and run
lots of high traffic ad campaigns in no time at all.
Is This Another Google Nemesis?
One thing I noticed when reviewing the Google Ambush system, is that it felt a little
similiar to another recently released product (back in 2009) which does a similiar thing for affiliates. I wanted
to address what I see as the similiarties and differences, as I know I am not the only one with this
concern...
First off, they ARE providing a very similiar service. The key difference however, is that
the review pages are totally different for Google Ambush, and dare I say it, much better quality. The real
advantage I can see over Google Nemesis, is that Ambush allows you to customize your Landing Pages with your own
html.
The other thing about Ambush is that it's totally flexable. Although it is clearly designed
for promoting Clickbank products, you can really use this for creating and managing any type of Adwords campain, to
sell your own products, or anything else for that matter.
In fact, you can use the individual elements to accomplish most regular tasks for online
marketing - from keyword research, to market research, to creating Landing Pages...and not just for PPC advertising
either.
The thing about Google Nemesis is that it was designed to creat landing pages and track
conversions. With Google Ambush, they have upped the game and gone several steps further, allowing you to quickly
find products, generate keywords, upload campaigns, creat landing pages and track your stats and
conversions.
Again, a totally new dimension of "affiliate automation" and certainly hard to deny that this
is indeed an impressive level of service and convenience.
I found many pros and cons to Google Ambush, so pick out the points that appeal or don't
appeal to you and your situation, in order to make a balanced and suitable decision...
The Bad Stuff...
Focused on Clickbank only (limited scope)
If Google Ambush allowed you to scan and research other networks, it would give you an
endless scope of potential products to promote. Sadly, they only focus on one network which is ClickBank. Having
said that, ClickBank is growing in size daily, with new products added to the marketplace all the time. This leaves
you with a whole range of products to promote, and you'll find that even when there are lots of other affiliates
promoting a product, you can still find your share of the pie when done right.
It is not as automatic as it is advertised
Don't be fooled into thinking this will do absolutely everything for you, including the
ironing and cleaning. The truth is, Google Ambush can only do so much right now, and I found out that multiple ad
groups and landing pages are not generated from your keyword lists that you have gathered in the research stage.
That means that you have to do it manually, which is a slight pain.
Some features not available
This might not be the case when you purchase your copy, but when I ordered, I found some
features advertised were still being developed or not available. Things like certain video training, and a couple
of research tools were not ready yet. This will obviously change over time, but I did find this
annoying.
Slow customer support (beyond 24 hrs)
It may just be my impatience, and the fact that I have been spoilt in the past, but I found
the customer support was slow when I needed questions answered. The alternative is the forum, but it was like a
ghost town when I arrived. However, in Google Ambush's defence, I would say these issues are more down to the fact
that it was a new service when I signed up, so hopefully these things are ironed out by the time you read
this.
You'll need some money
There's no denying it, it takes money to make money. Especially when running paid advertising
campaigns. Luckily, you won't need much money to start making sales, and the way the campaigns are created does
mean that you don't risk much (if any) money getting traffic to make those sales.
Still, be prepared to throw a couple of hundred bucks into this to make sales...you can't do
this without some upfront money. There are however, plenty of places online to find Google Adwords vouchers, so
bare that in mind!
The Good
Stuff
Fairly priced
Considering what you're getting here, there's no doubt about the value for money. Considering
most of the components of Google Ambush are usually sold seperately for twice as much as a single month's access to
Google Ambush, this is a no brainer.
And to be honest, you really do need these tools to keep up with the competion and save
yourself some hair pulling tantrums!
No website needed
The beauty of Google Ambush, is that you don't need to buy hosting or domain names, which is
great for someone like me who just wants to crank out campaigns without the hassle of domain resgistration, finding
good names, changing the DNS servers, and in the worse case scenario, having loads of useless domain names piled up
and being billed for.
Good organization
If you're a "tidy nut" like I am, then you'll love how Google Ambush keeps everything under
one roof. Trust me, as you roll out more and more campaigns this becomes crucial. Whilst Google does a good job of
making their PPC interface easy to manage and access, the tricky bit is when you have to juggle text files,
folders, web browsers and run multiple software which hogs your computer's memory. That's why I like having my
entire "control center" being in one location, with all the data and tools I need being just one click
away.
Easy to learn, perfect for newbie to
intermediaries
Unlike other programs and eBooks, the learning curve is really easy and low. That's because
you just watch the turotial videos and then let the software hold you by the hand the rest of the way. Sure, you'll
benefit from having a decent grasp of affiliate marketing, even if it's just the basics, but the truth is that you
don't need to spend months learning each task, and then weeks carrying each labour intensive task out to get your
campaigns running.
Good training
The videos are easy to follow and contain great content to map the whole process and
principles out for you. This isn't the most indepth or original training on affiliate marketing you will ever see,
but it's pretty darn good for the price, considering it's really a bonus element.
Unlimited campaigns remotely hosted, all for the single
monthly investment
This is a great way to save money on wasted domains and hosting. You can set up endless
campaigns and literally command your own income with Google Ambush, with no limits or price bumps!
Effective and cost saving tools
First of all, the tracking tool alone is something that many people pay $70 or so to use each
month. Why? Because it's crucial to know which keywords are making you money so you can drop the "duds". The
tracking tool is awesome, because it allows you to track sales of a product you don't even own...which is not easy
as you can imagine! This is a major advantage, because usually you have to contact the product owner of the product
you are promoting, and ask them to put your tracking code on their order confirmation pages, which is a real
hassle, so this is a major bonus.
Who Is It Right For?
Clearly, this will have major advantages for the average PPC marketer who is looking to save
time and money setting up and running their campaigns.
Beginners would find this a huge stepping stone to getting into thje lucrative world of
Google Adwords and affiliate marketing in general, but seasoned pros may opt for more high end services which are
more expensive but tailored to their own specific needs.
If you can't afford to spend a little upfront cash on paid advertising, then this product is
not going to be as effective as it could be. Although all of the tools come in very useful in their own right, so
the value is still there, even if you want to target free traffic instead.
Overall Conclusion
The truth is, this is a great product for beginners to intermediate affiliate marketers
looking to get into PPC advertising succesfully, without spending months learning or testing, and losing money in
the process.
Not only does it save time and money, but it gives you an inight into what really works in
affiliate marketing, which is an invaluable lesson all succcessful online marketers have to find out one way or
another.
I have seen sales as a result of early testing, which is a mjor plus for me. However, I still
find that a few tweaks to the landing pages and campaigns in general is required to keep in the green profit zone.
I don't mind though, because the whole campaign took an hour to set up, where usually it would have taken several
hours, or possibly a couple of days full time to do so.
I think beginners will revel in the ease of use and smooth introduction into affiliate
marketing via Adwords, but may outgrow the ClickBank marketplace pretty soon. It all depends on your motivation to
keep the whole thing ticking over. The good news is, once you've got a campaign making a profit, it usually stays
that way for a long time.
Although it would be nice to see more support and activity in the forum, along with more
training for advanced users and experience marketers, I think that for the low price (and free trial) being offered
from the guys at Google Ambush, this really is a no brainer for getting into the fast traffic and fast money world
of PPC and affiliate marketing.
